SAGE Upstate Neighborhood Advisor Program
The services of the Neighborhood Advisor Program, funded by the Onondaga County Department of Adult and Long Term Care Services, are free and confidential. Masani will help with finding services in a variety of areas, including health care, legal advice, transportation, housing, nutrition, exercise, social programs and caregiver information. She can also help you fill out applications and provide information about your eligibility for benefits that might help.
The Neighborhood Advisor Program is funded by the Onondaga County Office of
Adult and Long Term Care Services. This service is available regardless
of ability or willingness to contribute
VSC is an online community that streams interactive, live programs led by experts, and provides person-to-person video chat for members to talk directly to each other. The VSC offers 400+ programs, video chats, entertainment and more. Join from your own PC/laptop, tablet or smart phone with internet connectivity at home. The Onondaga Office for Aging is in partnership with GoGo Grandparent, which is a transportation service that allows you to book on-demand or scheduled rides, with just a phone call-- no apps or smart phone required! To qualify, you must live in Onondaga County and be age 60 or older. You need to register through the Office for Aging, which covers 100% of the cost on 4 one-way trips (or 2 round trips) per month, per person! Drivers you’re connected to through GoGo are background checked and screened. There are no restrictions on time of day or day of the week for pre-scheduled rides. You can use it for trips to visit Community Centers, loved-ones, fitness centers, medical appointments, and more!
